The goal of the certificate is to provide a broader foundation and greater depth in community forestry and tree health care subject areas than is provided by any of the existing majors at UGA.

The certificate program is open to student in all disciplines and majors but is targeted at students within the three administrating undergraduate units: Department of Horticulture, College of the Environment and Design, and Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources.

The certificate requires 29-32 total credit hours. Here is how those hours break down.

17-20 credit hours must be completed by taking one course from each of these six categories listed on our Classes page.

12 credit hours must be completed from the five subjects listed on our Electives page.

-Students will need to add this certificate to their (MyProgram) in Athena.

-In order to GRADUATE the certificate, students must "Apply to Graduate" in the program in Athena. Students cannot earn a Certificate until they have also earned a UGA degree/major.
